Student Response Systems (Clickers)
Student response systems, or clickers, have become standard equipment in many classrooms across the nation. Clicker technology allows instantaneous interactions between instructors and students, regardless of class size. Student Response Systems can be used to:
- Engage and motivate all students in the classroom, increasing student involvement
- Provide instant feedback for students and instructors
- Collect performance data from students
- Take attendance
- Manage student grades electronically
The three main components of clicker technology include the clickers (purchased by the students), a receiver installed in the classroom to collect responses, and the software that controls the system, installed on the instructor's laptop. To use clickers in your class, contact Jim Twetten at IT Services.
