Iowa State's Scout utility helps you download and install site-licensed software. Scout will configure the software so that it is compatible with Iowa State's network services; record the software versions of what it has installed on your computer; and alert you to newer releases so you can easily install available upgrades.

Mac OS X
- Downloading Software
Site-licensed software for Mac OS X is available from the "Iowa State Site-Licensed Software" secure web server. You will need your Iowa State Net-ID and password to access this secure web server. Note that your password is never stored on this secure web server, it is used only to authenticate your Net-ID and to authorize your access to the site-licensed software packages.
Non-site-licensed software is also available from the "Iowa State Mac OS X" web page. You will not need your Iowa State Net-ID to download non-site-licensed software.

Several groups across campus have teamed up to purchase a campus site subscription to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), providing access for university-owned equipment as well as personal access to students, faculty, and staff.
