These instructions will help you set up Outlook 2010 for ISU Exchange. These are the automatic set up directions; for manual set up, see Set Up Outlook 2010 for ISU Exchange (Manual). These instructions apply to all computers that are running on campus that do not require a VPN connection to access the network.
- When first launching Outlook click "Next" on the Startup Screen.
- In the Account configuration screen leave “Yes” checked and click “Next”.
- If the Startup Screen does not appear click the File tab, then “Info”, and “Add Account.”
- On the New Account Screen enter the following:
- Name: Last, First
- Email Address: yournetid@iastate.edu
- Password: Your Net-ID password
- Click "Next."
- A confirmation screen will appear showing:
- Outlook has established a connection with the Exchange server.
- Outlook has verified your account settings and logged you in to the server.
- Click "Finish" to complete the setup process.
- After Outlook verifies your account settings, click the File tab, then “Account settings.”
- On the Account Settings screen double-click your e-mail account.
- On the Change E-mail Account screen set the program to use cached exchange mode:
- If “Use Cached Exchange Mode” is checked, click “Cancel.”
- If "Use Cached Exchange Mode" is unchecked, check it and click “Next.”
- Click “Finish.” Outlook is now ready to use.
