These instructions will help you set up Outlook 2010 for ISU Exchange. These are the manual set up directions and should be used if automatic set up fails. For automatic set up, see Set Up Outlook 2010 for ISU Exchange (Automatic).
These instructions apply to university-owned computers that are part of the Active Directory. If you are unsure if your computer is part of the Active Directory or if you experience problems with this information, contact the Solution Center at 515-294-4000.
- Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
- Double-click "Mail", then "E-mail Accounts", then click "New".
- On the New Account Screen, select "Manually configure server settings or additional server types" and click "Next".
- Under Choose Service, select "Microsoft Exchange or compatible service" and click "Next".
- On the Server Settings screen enter the following:
- Server: exchange.iastate.edu.
- Check the box "Use Cached Exchange Mode".
- User Name: yournetid.
- Click "Check Name" so Outlook can verify the user name and server. Once verified the User name and Server name will become underlined.
- After verification, click "Next".
- On the final screen click "Finish".
- Open Outlook and your email will begin downloading.
