Fresh Phish of the Day: Fake Database Upgrade

We have received reports of a number of phishing emails circulating on campus. The message in the latest one claims that an upgrade to the database yielded an unusual response code from your email address, requesting your account be deactivated. THIS IS A HOAX!

DO NOT RESPOND if you are asked to confirm your email identity with your name, username, or password. If you receive such an email, delete it. If you did respond, immediately go to https://asw.iastate.edu/cgi-bin/acropoli...r/password, and change your password.

Iowa State University, IT Services, or the Solution Center will never ask you to send your password or other confidential personal information via email.
