Overview

Academic Technologies, an area of ITS, offers a wide range of services to support classroom and departmental initiatives and events, working with campus clients to investigate and implement new technologies.

Classroom Technologies

Classroom Technologies

Academic Technologies supports classroom equipment across campus. Through Academic Technologies, faculty can get help installing, configuring, and troubleshooting software used in Student Response Systems (Clickers).

Online Learning and Teaching

Online Learning and Teaching

Academic Technologies collaborates with CELT, faculty, and staff to create and implement online tools that advance learning and teaching. This includes the learning management systems WebCT and Blackboard Learn, for which ITS provides server support, recovery, and troubleshooting. Academic Technologies also offers software programming and server support for the ThinkSpace web-based instructional platform.

Event and Media Production Support

Event and Media Production Support

Academic Technologies provides event and media production support. This services includes media equipment and staff support for campus events, including audio and video recording, equipment rental, and planning help, and more advanced video support for academic projects.
Training

Training

ITS operates a training facility in the Communications Building that features computers for use in class as well as an instructor station for displaying presentations. ITS can also assist with scheduling training services provided under contract with outside suppliers.
