Equipment Checkout for Faculty & Staff

Overview

Media equipment is available to faculty and staff at no charge for ISU tuition-based instruction. All other uses of media equipment are subject to rental charges. Many media enhanced classrooms have equipment permanently installed.

Lecternette (podium PA), Portable bullhorn PAs (AC/DC), Large outdoor PAs (by special arrangement only), Wireless PA (AC/DC), Microphones (wired and wireless)
Audio Players and Recorders
Digital audio recorders, Audio cassette recorders (with telephone jack), Portable cassette tape recorders
Film Projectors
16mm sound film projectors

Classroom audio taping, video taping (CVRS), video projection, and PA set-up services are also available. These services are charged labor costs and must be arranged in advance. For more information, contact Classroom Technology Services at 515-294-8026.

Requirements

  • Equipment reservations are subject to availability and are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure availability, reserve equipment at least one week in advance. Computer/video projectors may require more notice.
  • Equipment may be reserved either in person at the IT Services counter in the main entrance lobby of the Communications Building or by calling 515-294-8026.
  • Equipment may be checked out Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (3:50 p.m. during the summer). Equipment may be returned through 5:00 p.m. (4:00 p.m. during the summer). Closed weekends.
  • An ISUCard is required for checkout.
  • Equipment use is free if it is used for ISU tuition-based instruction. For all other uses a rental fee is assessed based on the equipment and length of time it is used.

IT Services media equipment is loaned AT THE USER'S RISK. IT Services does not guarantee results and assumes no liability of any kind for video or audio tapes, 35mm film, or processing costs. IT Services will not be responsible for batteries, film, slides, video or audio tapes, or personal property left inside equipment or cases.
