Overview
The GIS Support and Research Facility is a public computing facility established to support the use of GIS technology at Iowa State University. The facility maintains a computing environment dedicated to GIS and spatial analysis applications.
Features
- Provides a high-level GIS research support laboratory for students, faculty, and staff.
- Provides GIS education and outreach to the ISU community and the State of Iowa.
- Provides GIS project and consulting services for internal and external clients.
- Includes two labs: a research lab (218 Durham) and a teaching lab (248 Durham)
- Administers site licensed GIS, GPS, and Remote Sensing Software.
- Maintains the Iowa Geographic Map Server and other spatial databases
