Mobile Device Security
Individuals who use university or personal cellular telephones for university business should read Iowa State University’s Communication Technology policy.
Mobile devices often contain personal and sensitive data, posing security risk to both individuals and the university. Mobile devices also have the added risks of being lost or stolen because of their size and portability. Wireless mobile traffic may be unencrypted and can be intercepted. It is recommended that you use a lock code on your device to protect personal and University data. If your device is lost or stolen you can contact the ITS Solution Center for options and capabilities of remotely removing data from your mobile device.
Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) requires a one-time $60 license fee if you choose to use a Blackberry device to access your Exchange Account. To order this service, fill out the BES Access Request form.
