Overview
ITS provides support for Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS), a telephone and voice option for faculty and staff. OCS combines instant messaging, presence, conferencing, desktop sharing, and multiparty voice and video calling for a seamless, low-cost communication and collaboration experience.
Get Started
- Contact your departmental Voice/Data coordinator to get the appropriate account numbers.
- Fill out and submit the OCS order form.

- Receive and place calls from your computer, desk phone, or mobile phone
- Consolidate email and voicemail integrated with the campus Exchange servers
- Utilize presence or availability indicators for contacts
- Streamline communication with a single interface for audio, video, conferencing, and desktop sharing
- Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access provides Office Communications Server services such as instant messaging (IM), presence, audio conferencing, and desktop sharing to users who do not use Office Communicator
Requirements
- ISU Net-ID and Exchange email account
- E911 waiver (submitted on the OCS order form)
- USB/Bluetooth headset or USB attached headset
- Windows Microsoft Office Communicator (MOC) client (fully functional, requirements here) or Mac client (limited functionality)
