As a student at Iowa State University, technology plays an integral role, from email to interactive learning tools. The following resources are a good place to begin meeting your technology needs.
Email and Accounts
- CyMail is Iowa State University's premier student email system, using Google's Gmail tools.
- AccessPlus is Iowa State's online resource for accessing and updating a wide range of information, including class registration and schedules, grades, financial aid, student job board, contact info, ISUCard funds, and your university bill.
- WebCT is a widely used e-learning system for online and classroom courses.
Get Connected
- Wireless network access is available in all of Iowa State's central campus green space (an area covering more than 50 acres), 90+ campus buildings, public areas of residence halls, and some residence hall rooms (with more to come).
- All on-campus residence hall rooms include either high-speed Ethernet or wireless connection to the network. Schilletter/University Village (SUV) apartments include DSL.
Help and Answers
- Solution Center is the place to go for answers to your computing questions. They can assist with passwords, accounts, email, voice and data networks, wireless and remote access, and much more. They are open days, nights, and weekends. Contact them in 195 Durham Center, at 515-294-4000, or at .
- FAQ Database has answers to the most frequently asked computing questions.
Sales, Service, and Software
- Tech CYte in the University Book Store at the Memorial Union, is an on-campus source for computer hardware and software, with educational discounts for Iowa State students.
- Computer Service and Repair in 74 Durham Center, provides on-campus repair and maintenance for computers and printers, including warranty and non-warranty service plus installation of memory, network cards, and hard drives.
- Site-licensed software is available for free, including email, antivirus, spyware detectors, and many others.
