Support Groups

IT Services relies on and partners with a large network of IT support groups and coordinators to assist in providing quality IT solutions to the university.

Campus LInux Administrators

This group meets monthly to provide a forum for campus Linux administrators to keep up 
on current developments that affect their work and to provide opportunities
 or seminars and workshops covering topics of interest to those who
 incorporate Linux and Open Source technologies in their areas. For more information, contact John Rose.

Community of Educational Technology Support (ComETS)

ComETS is an Iowa State University community that promotes dialog and events focused on technology in learning & teaching. ComETS is intended to be a university-wide community where ideas and resources can be shared, and debate can occur on future technology directions at ISU. ComETS is open to all interested ISU faculty and staff.

Computer Consulting and Support Group (CCSG)

This group meets monthly to discuss topics of interest to computer consultants on campus. Typical topics include support, network changes, anti-virus efforts, site licenses, etc. Meetings are open to anyone interested..

Exchange Administrators

This is a support group for managers of Microsoft Exchange mail systems on campus. For more information, contact Steve Kunz.

Macintosh OS X Administrators

This monthly meeting is for Macintosh specialists on campus. Typical topics include those relating to Macintosh servers and systems. For more information, contact Rod Eldridge.

Security Special Interest Group

This group meets monthly to discuss security topics of interest among support people on campus. The meeting and email list serve as a forum for security concerns, sharing best practices, and providing feedback on new IT security initiatives. For more information, contact Wayne Hauber.

Windows Administrators
