Get the facts. Don't be lured by the latest phishing scheme that is targeting ’.edu“ email addresses. The mail purports to be from the Internal Revenue Service and uses the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) as its hook. Victims are lured into the scam with the false information that they are due a tax refund. Do not respond to these. The IRS does NOT ask for personal data via email.
More information can be found at explained in an article on the IRS site at http://www.irs.gov/ (click on the link about "phishing").
