Facebook and Spam Attacks

This news item expired April 22, 2009. It may contain out-of-date information.
It shouldn't be a surprise that spammers are now spoofing email messages that appear to come from Facebook, the popular social networking site with more than 175 million active users.

These spoofed Facebook messages often contain links to websites, trying to lure you into clicking on them. If you do so, your reward will be viruses or spyware downloaded onto your computer.

Words of warning: DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK. Instead, delete the email. And, of course, keep your anti-virus and anti-spyware software updated.
