Academic Technologies at Iowa State - Join the Discussion

This news item expired April 23, 2011. It may contain out-of-date information.
It's no surprise to anyone that technology is changing; and changing very rapidly. For IT Services and Iowa State, it's vital for us to keep up. We need to learn about new technologies; what they are, what educational benefits they might have, and how (or if) we should deploy them on campus.

It's important that the campus community be engaged in any discussions about new educational technology. By harnessing the collective knowledge and experience of faculty, staff, and students, we can begin to understand which direction to take. One way to do that that is through the Community of Educational Technology Support (ComETS).

Right now, ComETS members are discussing mobile technologies, video hosting, eBooks, and Open Educational Resources. If you are interested in joining the discussion, visit the ComETS website at and click on the "Subscribe" link.
