Mac Software Collection Now Available for University Computers

This news item expired January 19, 2012. It may contain out-of-date information.

IT Services recently collaborated with units across campus to purchase the Mac Software Collection via the Apple Educational Licensing Program (AELP) for all university-owned Macintosh computers on campus. The Mac Software Collection includes Mac OS X (client only), iWork (Keynote, Numbers and Pages), and iLife (Garageband, iDVD, iMovie, iPhoto, and iWeb). Purchasing the Mac Software Collection for the approximately 2600 university-owned Macs provides a substantial discount over purchasing this software separately for each individual Mac.

The software is available for download for all ISU faculty and staff, and can only be installed on university-owned Macs. The software is not available for students or for faculty or staff to install on personally owned Macs. To download the software, login to smb://software.iastate.edu/aelp with your Net-ID and password.

Further information about the AELP can be found on Apple's website at http://www.apple.com/education/licensingprogram/.
