Hiring Student PHP Web Developers

IT Services is currently hiring student Web Developers who will work with PHP and MySQL to develop websites for IT Services and other departments on campus. Work includes programming, database design, testing and evaluating web services, helping clients maintain content, and various other duties as assigned.

You do not need to know PHP already, but you must be willing and able to learn.
There is a brief PHP self-test that is part of the application. Qualified applicants should be able to learn enough PHP from the tutorials on W3Schools ( and/or through the online PHP Manual ( to complete at least part of the self-test. Applicants who do not complete the self-test will be given a lower preference, but may still be considered.

The starting wage for this position is $10-12/hour, with raises each semester.
The training wage is $10/hour and generally lasts a couple of months. Then, after a successful evaluation, employees are moved to $12/hour. Additional increases are given at the end of each semester based upon performance and total hours worked. Student employees are expected to work between 15-20 hours/week during the semester and may work up to 40 hours/week during the breaks and summer. We're also happy to work with you on developing summer internships.

The position is continuous.
This means that as long as you're a student you can continue to work at WebDev. At the moment, we're specifically looking for students who are available this Fall semester and ideally will continue through Spring and Summer. (We generally don't hire students unless they have at least three semesters remaining.)
