During the 2005 Iowa Geographic Information Council (IGIC) biennial conference held last week, Patrick Brown, Systems Analyst for Information Technology Services, received the ’Iowa Geographic Information Council Achievement & Contribution in GIS“ Award.

Patrick's award nomination read:

"Patrick is constantly working toward the greater good of the Iowa GIS community. From developing and maintaining the IGIC website, teaching GIS short courses for ISU and Iowans statewide, developing and maintaining the Iowa Geospatial Data Clearinghouse, developing and teaching metadata certification programs for the state, or helping to organize the IGIC conference, Patrick is in the middle of statewide GIS projects. These contributions are above and beyond Patrick's position at the ISU GIS Facility where he strives to serve the faculty, staff, and students at Iowa State and continue the facility's legacy of helping serve the GIS needs of all Iowans. Patrick is always a phone call or email away to assist anyone needing help."
