Application Dashboard Refresh

Overview


In preparation for the transition from Okta to Microsoft for multifactor authentication later this summer the Sign On Dashboard at Iowa State University will be refreshed. Access to unvetted/unused/duplicated service apps will be removed. The lists below show the apps that will be removed and the apps that will remain.

This project is part of ITS’ commitment to providing all campus users with a secure environment and focuses on supporting the preferred, secure enterprise apps while removing apps duplicating the services of the enterprise apps.  

Schedule & Timeline

July 2024

  • Deadline for app removal and dashboard refresh.

June 2024

  • Dashboard refresh and app removal continue.

May 2024

  • The initial round of app clean-up removed access to unvetted/unused/duplicated apps.
  • Unapproved calendaring, to-do list and email.

Fall 2023

  • Application owners of apps flagged for removal were informed of the planned refresh.
  • Initial communications made with campus IT teams.

Approved Sign On Dashboard Apps to Remain

Many apps will continue to be available on the Sign On Dashboard, which include, but are not limited to, Microsoft apps. Students, Faculty and Staff can utilize Microsoft Office 365 programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, OneNote, SharePoint, Teams, Sway and Forms to complete many of the tasks needed while at Iowa State University. The benefits of the ProPlus program are available to all individuals with an active ISU email address. Learn more about the Microsoft Office 365 apps available for enterprise usage.
