What We Do

To make the Iowa State University experience even better, Information Technology Services works diligently with students, faculty and staff. More than 20 teams make up ITS with each having a dedicated role in supporting the university’s enterprise technology. The department includes 11 primary units encompassing work that ranges from network engineering to research computing, finance, change management and more.


The Campus Technology teams work diligently to ensure innovative equipment and collaboration apps are readily available on campus.

For questions and concerns regarding account protection and online safety,
the IT Security team is here to help.

To create an equitable and inclusive online experience for users with disabilities, the Digital Accessibility team develops resources like university's Digital Accessibility Policy and helps implement accessibility software.

The Development & Integration teams manage business systems of Iowa State to keep university work processes running smoothly.

For help with user IDs and sign-ons, the Information Systems teams oversee support in connecting users with the data they need.

And for work in larger research endeavors, the Research Technology teams can help all Cyclones use the power of high-speed computing.

Managing the configuration, integrations and security of Workday, the Workday Operations teams ensures the university's most wide-reaching enterprise system serves students, faculty and staff in the ways they need.

The IT Infrastructure teams are responsible for the university’s wired and wireless network access and make certain that campus stays connected with safe, dependable and easy-to-access internet.

Within the scope of department business, the Budget and Finance team develop and oversee ITS budget planning and processes and allocate funds to initiatives.

The Change Management and Training teams establishes strategies for supporting the Iowa State community through the adoption of emerging technologies.

And for sharing important technology messages, the Strategic Communication team builds awareness and understanding to successfully use supported technology.
